At Canine Gems Behaviour and Training a variety of services are on offer including a range of training classes, educational workshops, one to one sessions, behaviour consultations and dog walking services. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to correct any behavioural problems and provide training and a safe and relaxed environment. Where possible we also strive to provide outdoor training opportunities allowing dogs to learn in environments with increasing distractions. This not only proofs and strengthens behaviours but also means training occurs in real life situations. We appreciate that all dogs are different so we tailor training to suit the needs of you and your dog.
Gemma is fantastic, if she cope with our looney tune boy to complete his beginner agility course then everything else is a breeze. She is calm and knowledgeable and most of all friendly and approachable
One-to-one training at my house with Gemma has been very beneficial for my two miniature dachshund puppies. They love the sessions, love Gemma and they (and I!) have learnt a lot.
I fully recommend Gemma to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and patient dog trainer
I can’t recommend Canine Gems enough. Gemma is a wonderfully talented trainer and my dogs and I love going to her classes! Amazing value for money
Guiness and I have just completed tricky training. It was great fun and Guinness learned some new useful skills and tricks. Thank you Gemma
We cover Swansea, Neath and Llanelli areas, and work alongside owners to help them understand, manage, solve and prevent behaviour problems.
We use positive reward based methods to help you achieve the results you want whilst keeping your pet happy and allowing them to enjoy the training. A relaxed frame of mind will allow maximum learning to take place.

Canine Gems Behaviour and Training is owned and run by myself, Gemma McLoughlin. I have always had a very keen interest in animals especially their behaviour which led me to study for a degree in Zoology at the University of Sheffield. I completed this in 2007 and after a short educational break I studied for a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University of Lincoln where I was taught by some of the country’s leading behaviourists.
Running Canine Gems not only enables me to train dogs but also educate their owners to train in a positive a force free manner allowing them to get the best from their dogs.
